Teams from Marquette University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign took home top honors at the ninth annual Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Real Estate Challenge for their proposals to redevelop a vacant 11.7-acre big box space at the Chicago Ridge Mall.
In this year’s Midwest Real Estate Challenge, the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation is partnering with Starwood Retail Partners to engage real estate students in redeveloping an 11.7-acre site attached to the Chicago Ridge Mall. On October 16th, 750 people, largely from Chicago’s esteemed commercial real estate industry, gathered at the the Hilton Chicago for the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation’s 20th Annual Dinner. The event raised a record-breaking $560,000 to benefit the foundation’s two-pronged mission of funding gastrointestinal (GI) cancer research and advancing real estate education.
